A debit card is linked to your account, so you use your own funds, not borrowed money.

With a credit card, you use the bank's money instead of your own. You can spend up to a set limit and then have a certain period to repay the debt without interest.

You won’t usually encounter this during regular shopping. However, with some services like car rentals or accommodations, this can happen. If you use these services or travel often, a credit card should definitely be in your wallet.

Yes, you can have a credit card even without our account.

If you are already a Raiffeisenbank client, you can process your application completely online.   

If you are not yet our client, we will process your application online and you can sign the contracts via Bank iD or at a branch.  

We will issue your card within minutes after you sign the contract. You don't even have to wait for the plastic card to arrive in the post, just load it into your mobile wallet and you can use it immediately. 

Once your card is approved, you can start using it. You will also receive an SMS with information about the possibility of immediate card use.

Three months before the card's expiration, we will notify you in mobile banking and display the address where we will automatically send the new card. You can change the address directly in the app – at least two months before expiration.

In the details of the new card, you will see the delivery status:

• "We are working on producing the new card" – until it is handed over to Czech Post, we display the estimated delivery and delivery address. If it is a card renewal, we will also show the validity date of the original card.
• "The new card is on its way to you" – from the moment it is handed over to Czech Post until the card is activated by the user.
• "You should already have the card" – if the card has not been activated even after 14 days from sending. In that case, we will offer you the option to easily request a new one.

Activate your newly issued credit card when it is delivered to you.

The card can be activated:

• Online in Internet or Mobile Banking - click Activate in the card details. The first time you make a payment at a merchant, insert the card into the terminal and enter your PIN.

Or

• by first contact transaction at a merchant or ATM. Insert the card into the terminal or ATM and enter the PIN.
